Today is my last day at work in this building that I have been in for the last 27-1/2 years. I started as receptionist. I was on the reception desk for three months, then I went into the Command Center to type street names into the first cad system that the department had. Things have changed a lot since then. Now we have cell phones, pagers and email that we didn’t have then. Then you actually had type a letter on a typewriter with a piece of carbon paper between two pages so you would have a copy. You had to mail the letter and wait for a reply to come back the mail. Things were much slower then.
It has been wonderful and extremely rewarding to be part of CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and feel that maybe I have had a small part in helping our field people do the amazing work that they do in saving lives and property. Now it is time for me to start another chapter of my life. I am ready to spend more time with my family and watch my granddaughter grow up. I will watch with pride from Seattle as I hear about all the wonderful things you continue to do each day. My email is Robert.dreena@gmail.com
Thank you all, best wishes and God Bless.
