Jerry Logan News

This is just an FYI if you are interested as it does not look like you get these e-mails to retirees from Chris Leonard who took over for Dan Drake upon his retirement.

Think you all knew Jerry when he worked in Orange County and maybe before at CDF locations.  Sad news but I do know that he was putting up a great fight.

Jerry would you please forward to the CDF Retires if possible as I don’t thnk they have seen this.  rich

Hi Guys,
Jerry does not have many days left. This afternoon Jerry had surgery and it showed that his lungs are filling up with fluid almost as if he is drowning. Dr. Maurice, the thoracic surgeon, was only able to take the breathing tube away for a short time to do some laser to remove  the cancer but he needed the tube to breathe. This is very difficult to write but this is all part of the circle of life. I have made calls to our daughters and to his brother and mine. I am staying at the hospital.
He is at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach in ICU room 25 on the 4th floor.
My cell phone is 714-356-1502
I wish I had good news and that Jerry was going to be a miracle survivor but the Cancer has won the battle.
I know he would want you all to know. I found your e-mails on his computer and thought you could let his fireman family know what is happening.

Here is a picture of Jerry taken last Tuesday 3/19/13 only a week ago after he had received his second Clinical trial chemo at Cedar Sinai. It is hard to believe how quickly the scourge has done so much damage.
We were at the Petite Ermitage Hotel where we spent the night and had a fabulous dinner in our own private cabana.
