Announcement –  appointment of Keith Larkin to Assistant Region Chief, Northern Region

 

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Larkin to Assistant Region Chief of the Northern Region effective December 1, 2013.

 

Keith began his career with CAL FIRE in 1974 as Firefighter I in the Shasta-Trinity Unit. Keith has gained a diversified background in fire protection operations, administration, conservation camp, training, labor relations, and volunteer firefighter programs, while working his way up through the ranks in five Units: Shasta-Trinity, Tehama-Glenn, Madera-Mariposa-Merced, Tuolumne-Calaveras and Fresno-Kings. Keith has also worked at the Academy and managed the Department’s Training Program.

 

Since 2007, Keith has served as the Fresno-Kings Unit Chief and Fire Chief for the Fresno County Fire Protection District.  As Fire Chief for the Fire District, Keith managed a department with 13 career fire fighter staffed fire stations and five paid call firefighter stations.  In addition, Keith has served as both the OES Region V Coordinator and Fresno County Operational Area Coordinator since 2007.  Keith has worked on various FIRESCOPE, NWCG, and OSFM working groups and is currently the President of the Fire District’s Association of California.
