Passing of Bob Lucchesi

Passing of Bob Lucchesi

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Retiree Robert “Bob” Lucchesi.  Bob passed away with his wife Judy by his side on Monday, April 14, 2014.  Bob is survived by his wife Judy, two children and three grandchildren.

Bob began his career with CAL FIRE as a Seasonal Fire Fighter I on May 15, 1978 and then was appointed as a Deputy State Fire Marshal on June 18, 1984.  He also worked as a Supervising Deputy State Fire Marshal III in West Covina before moving to the Training Division.  Bob was instrumental in establishing an Accredited Regional Training Academy with both the Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County Fire Departments.  Bob also volunteered his time working with Fire Explorers throughout the Southern California area.   Bob retired from CAL FIRE – Office of the State Fire Marshal as a Fire Service Training Specialist III in 2006.

Following his retirement Bob went back to college and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Infrastructure Protection and began working on his Master’s Degree in Leadership and worked as the Executive Director of Fire and Emergency Services at Paramount Pictures.  Bob and Judy just recently moved to Oregon to be closer to their Grandchildren.

Bob will be laid to rest in Oregon with a “Celebration of Life” service planned for the Rancho Cucamonga area.  More detailed information will be sent as soon as it is received.
