We are saddened to report that CAL FIRE Fresno-Kings Firefighter II Roger Gonzales passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 21st, after returning from the San Diego complex fires. Roger would have celebrated his 32nd birthday on May 30. In 2000, Roger graduated from Fowler High School in the city of Fowler, Ca. where he excelled in baseball and football. To prepare himself for the fire service after graduating from high school, Roger put himself through Paramedic school. He then became a firefighter with CAL Fire and served over 8 year of service achieving the rank of Firefighter II and completing the Fire Firefighter Academy on November 16, 2013. Roger had a passion for hunting and guns. Roger was good fireman who was well liked and respected by his peers, he will always be remembered as a Firefighters Firefighter. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
