Passed away on July 24, 2014. Ron was born December 28, 1946 in San Francisco, CA to Henry E Pape Jr and Violet (Hasselbacher) Pape. Ron grew up in Cupertino, CA and was a graduate of Humboldt State University. He spent his adult life in Santa Rosa. He was a retired professional forester who spent his 30-year career with Cal Fire. He was also retired after 30 years of service with the Army National Guard of California 579th Engineer Battalion. Ron is loved and survived by his wife of 35 years, JoAnn Russo Pape and his son, Matthew Pape, his brother, Greg Pape, his sister-in-law, Lois, Pape, his nephew, Daniel Pape, his niece, Megan Pape, sister-in-law, Patricia Russo Brookins, brother-in-law, Logan Brookins. Ron enjoyed travel and many hobbies. He loved working with model trains, going to NASCAR races, exhibiting Cardigan Welsh Corgis and was an active member of numerous AKC clubs. He was a lover of all things Disney and Peanuts. Funeral Services will be held at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa on Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Donations in Ron’s name may be made to the American Kennel Club Canine Legislative Support Fund or the American Kennel Club Reunite Canine Support & Relief Fund.
