I’m writing today to let you know that after more than 17 years on the executive board I will be leaving for a new and exciting opportunity. Details of my upcoming assignment will be announced soon, but I can tell you it is a position that I feel like I’ve been working toward my entire career.
It has been a true honor to work with all of you during my time on the board, and I’m grateful for the many opportunities working with you and this union has brought my way. I’m happy to say that after talking with several great candidates for state retiree director, Sam Davis, a man I deeply trust and respect, has agreed to run for the position. I feel good leaving our members in his capable hands.
I most definitely will not be going underground in my new adventure, and I’m looking forward to continuing on my mission to better the lives of all firefighters through safety and training. I will always keep myself open and available for this union and its members, and I hope you will accept my invitation to contact me with questions, concerns and ideas.
In closing, I’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you for supporting me over the years.
