On Saturday, September 29, 2018, Michael (Mike) A. Daly, loving father, grandfather, son and brother, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 50.

Mike was born on February 29, 1968 in Watsonville, CA to Denis and Margaret Daly. He grew up in Watsonville attending local schools and graduating from Watsonville High in 1986. Mike went on to become a Firefighter starting as a volunteer at Salsipuedes Fire District in 1987 and then began his career with CAL Fire in 1989 in the San Mateo/Santa Cruz Unit. Mike worked for the next 19 years as a Fire Fighter and Fire Apparatus Engineer in different locations throughout the State before facing a career ending injury in 2008. Mike raised a beautiful daughter Sierra who was his pride and joy and took her to all the places he worked. On January 5, 2018, Sierra gave Mike his first grandchild named Sophia Mae. Mike was a proud grandpa (papa) watching Sophia grow and play was the highlight of his day. Mike loved his girls more than words can describe.

Mike had a passion for firefighting, but he also had a passion for sports and the outdoors. He loved baseball playing all the way through high school and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed trips out to many race tracks throughout California along with different states. He enjoyed fishing and duck hunting with his father Denis, and most recently over the last few years going fishing with his son-in-law Michael. He was a real one of a kind man, he always welcomed everyone with open arms.
